Poem - Aftaab

The Sun

The sun is eternally steadfast,

Rising each morning from the east.

They say it’s nothing but a fireball

But no, it is so much more!

Its rays are life-giving, comfort-giving,

They infuse life into fields and gardens,

Into each living creature.

The change of seasons is beholden to the sun’s rays;

They obey God’s commands, drawing forth the blessèd rains.

When the sun’s rays warm the earth, birds chirp with joy,

Lilacs bloom and give off their fragrance,

And townspeople’s senses awaken.

Without these rays, there would be naught but darkness,

Lifelessness, a cold, eternal void.
